The history of La Casa che Sogna (The Dreaming House)
This land is for me an important part of my origins.
I was born in Milan and I grew up in this metropolis, but in Tuscany I have spent the most joyful moments of my childhood and my adolescence: I escaped from Milan to spend the summer holidays, Christmas and Easter in the warmth of my maternal family. The stays in Valtiberina meant for me simplicity, lack of coercion, freedom, truthfulness, closeness with nature, meditation and romanticism, the dip in centuries of history that I wish the guests of La Casa che Sogna could feel.
Because of a lucky coincidence my mother, who was born in Citerna, near Sansepolcro, and my father, who is a real Milanese, met in the Adriatic Riviera in 1967 and married shortly after.
After a career in multinational companies in Italy and abroad, I decided to return to Italy, but no longer in Milan: My dream was Tuscany.
The first time I visited this house, looking for a property to buy in Valtiberina, once crossed the threshold of entry, I felt in a new dreaming world, far from common conventions and everyday stress. In the large bedroom on the top floor, Stars, which was furnished with an old wooden bed at that moment, I immediately felt the presence of something poetic, sweet, unusual, fascinating: THE DREAMING HOUSE. The house had no heating, the electrical system was very old, the ffurniture was spartan. There was only one small bathroom next to the fireplace. There was so much work to do, but luckily the previous owners had not intervened on the architecture, leaving intact the signs of time and of the Tuscan tradition.
So I decided to buy LA CASA CHE SOGNA and restructure it with the help of historical restoration experts. Under the artistic direction of my father, Giulio, we followed a philosophy of preservation of materials and all the original features (stone for the construction of walls, floors and ceilings in bricks, stone stairs, beams, doors and gates in natural wood), while giving the home the most modern comforts.
My mother Gabriella, thanks to herlong experience in Milan in the field of interior design, took care of selecting the furniture and carefully searching every single piece. Thanks to them and the work of talented professionals La Casa che Sogna is today a jewel which witnesses local history.
The Dreaming Housewas born from the passion of all involved, with the intention of making it available to all those who, like me, are looking for a unique experience, a special holiday in an unspoiled part of Tuscany, outside the usual mass tourism itinerary .
I expect you to Sansepolcro.
